TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that taxes may be paid on or before February 1st, 2016, without charge or interest. Taxpayers have the option of “The Two-Payment Installment Plan." To participate, the first installment must be paid no later than February 1st. On all taxes received after such date there shall be added interest of one percent for the month of February, and two percent if paid in the month of March AND
Pursuant to New York State Real Property Tax Law, Section 987, effective June 1, 1990, all tax collecting officers must send a notice to each taxpayer whose taxes remain unpaid after the interest-free tax payment period has expired. Such notice will be sent mid-March 2017. The “LATE NOTICE FEE” HAS BEEN WAIVED by resolution of the Richmond Town Board, resolution adopted 09/06/94.
TAXES UNPAID as of April 1, 2017 are to be remanded to the Ontario County Treasurer for collection, and a penalty of five percent added to the total on the bill plus monthly interest charges. In such cases, arrangements must be made with the Treasurer’s office for verification of amounts and payment.
