Posting policy: The Town of Richmond accepts submissions for events that are organized and hosted through a nonprofit organization or governmental entity; and which take place in the Town of Richmond, or relate to services and resources that directly impact residents. To submit a posting, email our Webmaster with all information listed in the format below. Submissions must be made at least 7 days in advance of the event.

Join Josh Nichols, meteorologist from WROC-TV News 8. Organized through the SALT Council (Seniors And Lawmen Together), a committee of local senior citizens and representatives from the Ontario County Sheriff's Department, the Geneva Police Department and the Ontario County Office for the Aging who educate the community on senior safety issues.

Sponsored by the Ontario County Office for the Aging, this program invites seniors 60 years of age or older to come together for a delicious, nutritious meal and friendly conversation. Meals are available at no charge for seniors (a suggested donation of $3.50 covers the cost of the meal). Meal reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Genesee River Basin Trees for Tribs Program
Do you have a stream on your property? Property owners within the Honeoye Creek subwatershed may be eligible for free trees and shrubs through Trees for Tribs, a program that works with landowners to limit erosion and sedimentation while protecting native fish and wildlife. Ontario County SWCD Fish Stocking Program
A well-stocked pond can provide many recreational opportunities for your family. The Ontario County SWCD fish stocking program provides suitable species at a reasonable cost. Fish stocking sales are held each year in September and May; visit the OCSWCD's fish stocking page in early September or early April to place your order.
 
Note: The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation requires a farm fish pond license. See the DEC Farm Fish Pond License Application form.

American Red Cross Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Opportunities

 

In partnership with New York State, the American Red Cross is offering free Citizen Preparedness Corps training sessions titled "Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to do When Disaster Strikes." Presentations can be scheduled any time and in nearly any setting.
