Friday, July 3rd - at dusk

 
Independence Day Fireworks Display & Ring of Fire

 

The Town of Richmond will host its annual Independence Day fireworks display at dusk on Friday, July 3rd at Sandy Bottom Beach. [Please note: the park will be closing at 5 pm for the setup of the fireworks.]

 

Waterfront property owners are also invited to light flares at dusk to create the Ring of Fire around Honeoye Lake. Thanks to the Richmond Fire Department and community organizations for supporting this annual event.


Location: Sandy Bottom Beach, County Road 36 (West Lake Road). Fireworks can be viewed from most locations around the lake.

Independence Day Parade & Ceremony

 

The Town of Richmond's Independence Day parade will begin at the United Church of Christ at 8758 Main Street, and end at the gazebo in front of the Town Hall. The parade will be followed by a short ceremony and a performance by the Honeoye Community Band.

Honeoye Valley Association: Annual Meeting & Presentation   

 

The HVA will conducts its business before hosting an enlightening presentation by Dr. Bruce Gilman and Terry Gronwall titled "The Nature of Our Lake: What Did We Learn From Research Projects in 2014?" Learn about new data from studies of the zebra mussel population and aquatic plant communities, as well as mapping of the lake bottom substrate. Get more information on the HVA website.

Ontario County SWCD Fish Stocking Program
A well-stocked pond can provide many recreational opportunities for your family. The Ontario County SWCD fish stocking program provides suitable species at a reasonable cost. Fish stocking sales are held each year in September and May; visit the OCSWCD's fish stocking page in early September or early April to place your order.
 
Note: The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation requires a farm fish pond license. See the DEC Farm Fish Pond License Application form.

American Red Cross Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Opportunities

 

In partnership with New York State, the American Red Cross is offering free Citizen Preparedness Corps training sessions titled "Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to do When Disaster Strikes." Presentations can be scheduled any time and in nearly any setting.
